By adding a condition to an activity, you can decide when it becomes available for the learner.

You can add conditions to blocks and activities. Click on Edit next to the block or activity.

Below, you will find a few scenarios for using conditions.

Scenario 1 - Assessment

Learners take an assessment after each topic. This will become available after all activities of that topic have been completed.

  • Click Edit at the assessment.
  • Choose the Conditions tab and click + Add.
  • Choose the condition: '... after activity "X" is completed'
  • In the dropdown menu select the activity that needs to be completed first.
  • Add this condition for each activity that exists about this topic.
  • Uncheck Hide unavailable activity, so the assessment will be visible in the learning journey.

Scenario 2 - Certificate

You want the learner to get a certificate after passing an assessment.

  • Click Edit at the certificate.
  • Choose the Conditions tab and click + Add.
  • Add the condition: '... after activity "X" is completed with result "X"'.
  • Select the assessment in the drop-down menu and select Passed.
  • Uncheck Hide unavailable activity, so the certificate will already be visible in the learning journey.

Scenario 3 - Limited access

You're planning a workshop and learners will have to prepare for this in the week before until they can subscribe to the event. They will be able to do this until one day before the workshop takes places.

  • Click Edit at the hand-in assignment that the learners should finish first.
  • Choose the Conditions tab and click + Add.
  • Add the following conditions: '... from date "X"' and set the date.
  • Check the option Send notification to learners to notify them about this new activity.
  • Hide the activity before it becomes available.

  • Click Edit at the event activity.
  • Choose the Conditions tab and click + Add.
  • Add the following conditions: '... after activity "X" is completed' and '... until date "X"'.
  • All conditions must be met for the activity to be available.
  • Choose the hand-in assignment in the drop-down and set the date.
  • Notify the learners 1 day in advance that the activity will be closed.

You can edit the notification text by going to the Settings tab and clicking the button Edit e-mail contents. The notifications that apply here are Activity available from and Activity available after.
