○ Copy content to another content library
Scenarios
- You have created content that you want to reuse for another learning journey. You then want to copy parts of the existing content to another content library so you can make some specific changes.
What role do you need
- Author
You can find the Export button by going to the Content tab and clicking More.

Alternatively, you can click onand then on Export at the top.
1) Export the content from the content library
Select what you want to export. You can export the entire content library, or specific folders by selecting Only these folders.
Click on Export. You can then download a zip file to your computer.
Do you see an error when trying to export? Then you have most likely given several content parts the same name. In the error message you will see the name of the content part that is involved.
You can solve this by giving each content part that has the same name an unique ID.
2) Look at the Properties of the content library
For the next step, you will need the 'old folder name'.
Click on the name of the content library in the breadcrumb path and then go to the Properties tab.
Make a note of the name you see next to Folder.
3) Import the zip file into the other content library
Go to Content and select Import under the More button to the right of the content library. You will then be taken to a page where you can set the following options:
File
Click Browse to locate the zip file in your computer's files folder.
Type
Because the format of the zip file is familiar to aNewSpring, select Internal content (which is selected by default).
Old folder
Files that you use in the questions and content parts are in the zip file in a folder that bears the name of the first content library.
This is not always desirable, especially when it contains a reference to, for example, the name of a customer. You can have this removed when importing by entering the folder name you found in step 2 at 'Old folder'.
Then click the Import button.
Exporting and importing questions with exam terms
If you export a content library that contains questions with exam terms linked, these exam terms will also be exported and you can find these exam terms in a separate file in the zip file called terms.
If you want to import the questions in another content library without the exam terms linked to the questions, then remove the terms file from the zip file. If you then import the zip file in another content library, the exam terms will not be linked to the questions.
This doesn't work when you want to overwrite the questions in the existing content library. Once the exam term has been linked to the question, you can't remove the exam term.
