○ How do I create a template?
Scenarios
- You want to create a new learning journey for your learners
- There is an existing template on which you want to base the new template
Required roles
Designer
Go to the tab.
1) Add a new template
We also call a template a learning journey because this is what you make for your learners in the template. To start and to create a new template, click.
Copy an existing template if you want to base the new learning journey on this existing template. Click More, and then click the Copy button next to the template you would like to copy.
2) Give the template a name
The name should be unique and will not be visible to the learners.
3) Choose the purpose of the template
Based on the purpose of the template, functionalities can be enabled.
Do you need help picking the right purpose of the template? Then hover your mouse over the question mark to read more information about the different template purposes.
If you have selected the purpose "To create learning journey", you can change it to a 'Demo' as long as you have not selected more than 15 questions and content parts in the template. You can see how many questions and content parts are selected in a template by opening the tab Content Management in the template.
If you only want to use the MemoTrainer, you can remove all blocks and activities from the template.
4) Configure the template functionalities
Depending on the purpose of the template you have chosen, several template functionalitie can be enabled for the template:
- Retention training with the MemoTrainer
Available for: To create a learning journey, To create a demo, Only offer the MemoTrainer - Interaction between learners
Available for: To create a learning journey - Learning journey with instructors
Available for: To create a learning journey

5) Set up the activity advice and the assessment terms and colours (optional)
These settings can be changed on a later moment when you are editing the template. Read more about setting up the activity advice and assessment terms and colours in the articles below:

6) Configure the content libraries
This step is only possible if you have both the Designer and Administrator role.
If you have only the Designer role, you can open the tab Content Management after creating the template. From there, you can select which content libraries should be linked to your template.
All content used in a template is stored in a content library. This content can be reused.
By default, a new content library is created when creating a new template. However, you can also choose to link existing content libraries to the new template.
7) Advanced settings (optional)
There are three settings here:
- External ID: the external ID is used if you connect with an external system;
- Course completing activity: is used if the course is going to be played through LTI, SCORM and AICC;
- Base course grade on: are used if the course is going to be played through LTI, SCORM and AICC.
8) Create the template
If all functionalities are enabled, click Create to create the template and to add activities to the template
