If learners want to follow the learning journey on a phone, the aNewSpring app can be downloaded. The app is available for:

Android - Upwards from Android 5.1
iOS - Upwards from iOS 11.0

The app can also be placed in the app store in your branding. Read more about this in A custom app in your own style.

It is good to mention that aNewSpring is not supported in mobile browsers.  And although most functionalities work fine, not all features are user friendly. For instance, not all pages are responsive.

Also, drag and drop questions work a little less intuitively. Instead of dragging, you have to double tap on an answer to move it to the next empty spot.

Login to the app

After you have downloaded, installed and opened your app for the first time, you will be required to fill in a link to the right learning environment. You should have received this from your training company.

This link usually ends with anewspring.com.

Then enter the login details that you normally use to log in to the learning environment.

Features in the app

Not all features that learners have in aNewSpring are also available in the app.

In the list below you can see which features are available and later in this article we will elaborate on some of them.

  • Complete activities of the learning journey
  • Post and react on discussion messages within activities
  • MemoTraining and extra practices
  • Overview of social and general notifications
  • Push notifications
  • QR code scanner to navigate directly to a specific activity in the app
  • The communication centre: learners can see all messages and announcements. Learners can send and receive messages in the app
  • Learners can ask instructors questions about a content part or question in the activity player

(Push) Notifications

There are two types of notifications in the app: social and general notifications. Every notification is divided into categories and push notifications for these can be turned on in the app settings.

Read more about this in Notifications in the aNewSpring app.

QR code scanner

In the advanced settings of an activity, you can add an External ID. After clicking on update, you will see a QR code that you can download and share in any place you like.

Learners who are enrolled in the course can scan this QR code and navigate directly to the related activity.
