In this article, we show you a few use cases for profiles & competencies.

Re-certification

For various profiles, it is necessary that the learner acquires a new certificate after a certain period. This is possible by giving a certificate an expiry date.

When the certificate is about to expire, the learner will see this next to the competence along with the expiry date.

You can link the same competency to the new certificate.

In this manner, competencies become a sort of re-certification dashboard, allowing learners to see which courses they have to complete to remain certified.

Permanent education

For permanent education, you could add professional competences and competencies to the profile. Learners can then see which courses they have to complete to show their professional competences.

Soft skills

Profiles and competencies can also be used for soft skills. You could for example create competencies for interpersonal and social skills.

Training on the job

These could be courses employees complete and then put into practice on the job. Using profiles and competencies for these creates an overview for the learners on how far along they are with these trainings.
