○ P&C - Core concepts
In this article, we explain the core concepts of profiles & competencies. You can find more articles in the category for profiles and competencies.
Profiles
A profile is a way to link competencies. Every profile contains competencies which a learner needs to achieve.
Example profiles: Emergency responder, nurse, English language
Competencies
Competencies are broader than profiles. A competency can be a measurable degree of knowledge, skill, attitude, or even a personality trait. It is thus not just a way to measure learnable skills, but also to a degree talents of a learner.
Example competenties: Emergency reanimation, communicative, grammatical level
You can create competencies that are linked to all courses of a template, or link them to specific courses.
Competency collections
Competencies are sorted into competency collections. This way you can sort them by project or theme. Collections are not visible to learners.
If you are using sub management, you can link collections to specific subenvironments so that every subenvironment can use its own set of competencies.
Certificates
Every competency is linked to a certificate activity in a learning journey.
Learners complete a competency by acquiring the certificate linked to it.
A profile is completed once a learner has completed all competencies within the profile.
Results on Profiles and Competencies
In this first version of P&C, the achieved results of learnes can only be found in the reports.
Learners and profiles
Learners are linked to a profile. Once they are linked, they will see which competencies are linked to it and which learning journeys they have to do to complete said competencies.
