○ The renewed Account settings page for learners
From Release 108 (scheduled for 13 May 2025) we will make some changes to the Account settings page on the learner side. This article will explain the changes to this page and provide some examples of what this page will look like.
To access the new Account settings page, the learner clicks his name at the upper right corner of the learning environment and then clicks My account. The page that opens, is divided into 3 tabs.
Tab Personal information
On this tab the learner can write a biography, set a profile image and view and adjust personal data (depending on the settings of the learning environment if learners are allowed to change this information).
Tab Account settings
On this tab, the learner can see which email address or username is linked to the account under Login information and here the learner is able to change the password of the account as well.
Under Language and timezone, the language and timezone of the account can be adjusted. When changing the language or timezone, the new setting is immediately adjusted and saved.
If two-factor authentication is enabled for the learning environment, the learner can enable it for the account under the Two-factor authentication.
Under Accessibility custom keyboard shortcuts for the activity player can be enabled.
Tab Email notifications
On this tab the learner can change the email notifications settings and can indicate which email notifications should be sent. The frequency can also be determined here.
Testing the new Account settings page, adjusting the page and making the page available for your learners
The new Accounts settings page isn't directly available in your learning environment and visible for learners (except for learning environment created after release 108).
The tenant of the learning environment can set up accounts as test accounts to test the new pages (also to test the new Results page).
In this way the new pages can be viewed and tested first to see how the look and feel settings are applied to the new pages. If necessary the look and feel settings can be adjusted but the changes won't be directly visible for your learners.
You can also use this test period to make screenshots of the new pages that you can share with your learners when communicating about the new pages. Or if you would like to update your manuals, you can use this test period to make screenshots and update your manuals.
When you are ready to make the pages available for all your learners, the tenant can enable the new pages. You can read more about this process in the following article:
