This article contains information about the Content Converter. This is an external tool that can convert aNewSpring content to Word and vice versa. More information about the Content Converter can be found on this page.

Scenarios

  • You have content for a specific customer and want to easily recognise which content is intended for this customer using the IDs.

What does the Page ID Prefix do?

The Page ID Prefix is a functionality in the Content Converter that allows you to add additional information to the IDs and generates ID's automatically for your content parts and questions.
This can be useful if, for example, you have content for different customers and you want to distinguish this content from each other by using IDs.

The Page ID prefix only works when you convert content from Word to aNewSpring and a prefix and ID will only added to content parts and questions for which no ID is added in the Word file manually.

Enable the Page ID Prefix

The option is not enabled by default in the Content Converter. You enable this feature on the Settings page. Click on the icon to open the Settings page. Here you can enable the option of the Page ID prefix (or disable the option).

Using the Page ID prefix

After selecting the Word file you want to convert, you can enter the Page ID Prefix in the pop-up window that appears.

Enter the desired prefix in the Page ID Prefix field. Then convert your Word file to an aNewSpring file. The Converter adds the prefix and automatically generated ID's to all content parts and questions. After importing the aNewSpring file into the content library, all IDs will have the specified prefix with an ID.

Example: if you enter the prefix 'ANS', the Converter generates ID's with this prefix for your content parts and questions and this will look like this: ANS0001.0001, ANS0001.0002 etc.
