Adding questions

In aNewSpring it is possible to add different question types and there are several ways to add and edit them. This article explains how to add questions and how to edit them using the plus-editor.


Where can I add questions?

There are two different ways to add questions. Either via the template or by adding questions in the content library.

1. Via the template

This is only possible when you have both the Author and Designer roles. Go to the tab 'Courses' and choose Edit next to the template.
Then click on Edit next to the activity.


Click on +Item when under the tab Activity content.


2. Via content library

Click on Manage next to a content library when navigated to the tab 'Content'.
Click on +Item when on the tab 'Pages'.



How do I edit a question

When you have added a question. Fill in the title of the question. Press enter to add an ID. This is optional and can be added as an unique code for you to identify questions.
Hereafter choose a question type.


Click on Location to change the location of the question within the content library.


Click on Add and edit.


Text-editor or Pluseditor?

When adding questions you can use the Text editor or the Plus-editor. With the plus-editor you are able to be more creative with the lay-out, but is currently in bèta version for questions.

Questions you make using the plus-editor are currently not available in the MemoTrainer app.

Plus-editor

To start editing, click on A to add text to the question.


The Plus-editor works the same way as when you are editing content parts: Click on the + or on A (for text) to add content.


Now determine the content part type you want to add to the question. For reference, read also 'What content part type should I choose?'.


Click on the Plus signs at either side of the canvas to create rows and columns.


Click on x to delete a whole unsatisfactory box and on the Bin to delete only the content therein.


You can split each box vertically to add a column and split the box horizontally to add a row.


Canvas Settings

The canvas is the screen on which the content is shown. You can determine the size of your canvas with the slide switch.


Click on the Gear or the tab Settings to set the canvas settings on Relative or Absolute. Click Update to save. Click at the splitbutton Update and new to save and create a new content part.


Click at the breadcrumb Manage content to go back to the content library. At the tab Settings you can change your canvas settings for questions and content parts all at once.



Supported files

  • Images (.png, .jpg, .gif)
  • Audio (.mp3)
  • Flash (.swf) 
  • Downloadable files (For example .doc, .pdf, .exe, .xlsx)
